This website was created to present a vertical slice of my divergent artistic and professional interests in storytelling, character design, digital and traditional media for illustration, timed animatics, cinematics compositing, life drawing and reportage.
I was trained in the traditional visual arts, first at Fiorello LaGuardia High School, later graduating from Parson's School of Design's Illustration degree program, and finally the Passalacqua School for Illustration.
I got my start in interactive media in the early nineties, spent 8 years in animation at Walt Disney Feature Animation, freelanced briefly as a concept artist, taught at Ringling School of Art and Design for a semester and ended it up back in interactive first as staff concept artist and later as an associate art director for Electronic Arts.
In this global arena it is important to be "multi-lingual" as an artist to be able to flexibly solve problems unique to the design goals of the visuals you make for your personal and professional work. I credit the training I recieved specifically at the David Passalacqua School for opening my eyes to a larger view of how to work for oneself and others. In that sense I'm still just getting started...
